Two of the most influential brands in Southeast Asia’s timber and woodworking sector join hands to bring you the inaugural VIFA Woodmac Vietnam 2017.
The Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh (HAWA) represents all of Vietnam’s wood processing and furniture manufacturers. HAWA has an extensive network of manufacturers in Vietnam’s furniture sector—they are also the organisers of the annual VIFA HOME (for domestic furniture market) in November and VIFA EXPO (for furniture export market) in March.

This upward trend is expected to continue this year with total export value rising 10.2% to hit US$7.6 billion. Vietnam is also expected to be the next focal point for panel production, with announced capacity of 700,000m3 of MDF in 2015.
The country’s phenomenal growth in the last decade has made it a serious contender to overtake China as the world’s manufacturing powerhouse. Foreign direct investment hit a record high in 2015 and is set to continue to climb in 2016. Some drivers of growth are: A stable, visionary government that encourages innovation and investment, an abundance of raw material, a young and skilled workforce, and easy access via land and sea to southern China.
