Jointly organised by HAWA Corporation and Panels & Furniture Group of wood magazines.
Following the first show in 2017, two of the most influential brands in Southeast Asia’s timber and woodworking sector join hands again for VIFA Woodmac Vietnam 2018.
The Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh (HAWA) represents all of Vietnam’s wood processing and furniture manufacturers. HAWA has an extensive network of manufacturers in Vietnam’s furniture sector—they are also the organisers of the annual VIFA HOME (for domestic furniture market) in November and VIFA EXPO (for furniture export market) in March.
For nearly two decades, Panels & Furniture Group of wood magazines has been delivering timely, thought-provoking insights to its global readership. Five titles under the Group’s umbrella encompass Panels & Furniture Asia, Panels & Furniture China, Wood in Architecture, American Hardwood Southeast Asia and American Hardwood China. The Group is also the organiser of the Sylva Wood show in Shanghai.
Gain access to more than 1500 exporting companies in need of new technology to expand capacity. 60% of Vietnam’s 4,000 furniture and woodworking factories are located within a 40km radius around Long An, Binh Duong, Dong Nai provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam’s wood and wood products exports are forecast to reach US$8 billion in 2017, posting a 17% year-on-year increase and surpassing the target of US$7.6 billion set earlier in the year. Vietnam also imports a large amount of wood material worth $1. 8 billion annually, equivalent to about one-third of the export turnover. Last year, after a six-year negotiation process, Vietnam initiated the Vietnam-EU Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) on the EU Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT). These events are set to make the country a hub for furniture production, ready to supply key markets such as the US, Japan, the EU, China and South Korea.
Other growth drivers are: A stable, visionary government that encourages innovation and investment, an abundance of raw material, a young and skilled workforce, and easy access via land and sea to southern China.
Based in Binh Duong, VIFA Woodmac Vietnam 2018 is set to unlock endless possibilities for your business in Vietnam and the region!
